I've never heard of anyone being stung by a bumble bee.
Of course they can. I once bought a round of 啤酒 at a local bar, where I was served by a bee who was working part time as a barmaid. The bee overcharged me by ￡5. I don't even think it was a girl bee, but it was difficult to tell as the bar was quite dark. That was the last time I was stung by a bee in a bar though, as if I see a bee behind the bar in a pub, I just leave without buying a drink. Just remember, bees are untrustworthy bar stewards.
When I was little I stepped on a bumblebee incan bumble bees sting you the grass. It didn't sting me but it was buzzing really loudly so I ran for my life. When I was in high school a bumblebee stung my back and finger--the same bee for both stings, too. It might have been revenge for that time....lol. Bees scare me a lot.

definitely don't touch them ! dont touch them even if they are dead.
They will sting you. If you make one mad, it will chase you until it catches you, then it'll sting you.
I made the mistake of swatting at one with a stick. It chased me for can bumble bees sting youa while, then my mom swatted at it (it chased her). My dog snapped at it. It chased the dog. They sure can. And what is more? You have to go through all that pain knowing the bumble bee did not even die when it stung you. At least when honey bees sting, you know its dead.
I was plowing a field, hit a ground nest and got stung about a zillion times.
